Li is a professor at the University of California, Irvine, with appointments in three departments: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, and Biomedical Engineering. At UCI, he also serves as Calit2 division director and director of the Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility in The Henry Samueli School of Engineering.


Li holds 18 U.S. patents, has 15 patents pending and has published more than 280 research papers involving microelectronic technologies, microwave circuit design, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) for communication and biomedical instrumentation applications, and bio-nano-IT technology.


He received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan, and his master’s and doctorate degrees, also in electrical engineering, from UCLA.

Dr. Arthur Yang Zhang

Arthur manages technology strategies and applications for the CalPlug Center at Calit2. He works closely with policy makers, manufacturers, faculty and researchers to promote plug load energy efficiency. Arthur is actively involved with technology commercialization of cutting edge products in energy efficiency, telecommunications, and micro devices for medical and industrial applications.

Before joining Calit2, Zhang was the project leader for several industry and government funded R&D projects and developed record-breaking prototypes at the Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility. Zhang publishes his work at leading conferences and
journals for IEEE and APS.

Yang received his B.S. degree in Applied Physics with honors from the University of Science and Technology of China. His Ph.D. work in experimental plasma physics from the University of California, Irvine was supported by a Regents’ Fellowship and a Department of Energy grant.

 

 

 

Dr. Stuart Ross

  Dr. Ross is the Assistant Director of Calit2, Irvine division. Stu is the lead staff person for preparing grant/contract proposals to governmental sponsors -- budgets, editing, forms, and liaison with ORA.  He assists with proposals to private sponsors and assists with post-award management as needed.   He also provides information on funding sponsors, serves on the space allocation committee, advises on research compliance issues, and coordinates SURF-IT, the summer research program for undergraduates.

 

Shellie Nazarenus

Ms. Nazarenus is the Assistant Director of Calit2, Irvine Division for marketing and outreach. Shellie oversees the marketing communications and external relations activities at Calit2. She oversees all of the communication efforts for the Irvine division, including the biannual magazine, monthly e-newsletter, website, graphic identity, etc. She leads major events and interfaces with many constituents on and off campus.
